Musgrave Budgens Londis improves operational performance through working with Atheon to consolidate product and price information across its store formats
Data consolidation helps Budgens & Londis

Musgrave Budgens Londis ("MBL") chose to appoint Atheon Consulting to assist in harmonising commercial data between the Budgens & Londis businesses, enabling a range of consolidated, centralised activities. MBL needed to link, clean, enrich and analyse a wide variety of data sources in order to build an accurate composite picture of products, suppliers and pricing; the resultant information would be used to drive and further improve trading performance.

Atheon Consulting took responsibility for acquiring source data (electronic and paper-based), preparing the data (including scanning and extracting paper-based information), matching and cleaning the results, enriching information with market data and presenting a suite of interactive analysis tools to enable MBL staff to use the information in everyday business processes. The work was completed on time, to budget, with MBL able to use the information directly from the materials delivered; the analysis tools, produced using Visokio Omniscope, have been used to identify range improvement opportunities, synchronise activities between Budgens and Londis and collaborate more closely with key suppliers.

Heidi Jackson, Category Manager at MBL, said "Atheon Consulting helped us to save a great deal of time and become more efficient in our analysis of pricing and products. They were very helpful and quick to resolve any problems that we came up against, and we hope to work with them on a number of other projects in the near future."

Guy Cuthbert, Managing Director of Atheon Consulting commented "We were delighted to be asked to work on such a high-profile project within MBL, and look forward to working with them with further data management, analysis and operational projects."
